Mentorship Program

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis’ Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program serves approximately 400 youth, between the ages of 14-18, within 13 school districts throughout St. Louis County. WIA aims to increase graduation rates, post-secondary education attainment, and job-readiness. 

ULYP-STL supports WIA youth through 1:1 mentoring relationships. To be a WIA Mentor, you must be willing and able to make a one-year commitment with a minimum of 2 touches per month (1 in person meet-up and 1 phone call). Of course, more frequent interaction is allowable and encouraged. 

WIA Mentors are provided with an orientation and training by the Urban League and are supported by WIA Case Manager throughout the experience.
